月5日から5月9日まで、カナダにて開催される展示会に参加してまいります。

これまで日本で積み重ねてきた木彫の技術と表現を、
海外という新しい場所でどのように受け取っていただけるのか。
期待と緊張が入り混じる中での挑戦です。

言葉や文化が違っても、
木の温もりや、手仕事の痕跡、
そして作品に宿る“気配”は、きっと伝わるものがあると信じています。

今回の展示に向けて、
一刀一刀の意味を改めて見つめ直しながら制作を重ねてきました。
仕上がりの美しさだけでなく、
触れたときに感じるもの、空間に置いたときの存在感まで含めて、
ひとつの作品として成立させることを意識しています。

海外での展示は、
自分自身の現在地を試す機会でもあり、
同時に、新しい視点や価値観に触れる大きなきっかけになると感じています。

 

今回の経験を通して、
木彫という日本の手仕事の魅力を、より広く伝えていけるよう
活動の幅を広げていきたいと考えています。

今後は国内だけでなく、
ポップアップや海外展示なども視野に入れながら、
多くの人に直接作品を見ていただける機会を増やしていきます。

場所が変わっても、やることは変わりません。
木と向き合い、一刀一刀を積み重ねること。

その先にあるものを信じて、行ってまいります。

From May 5th to May 9th, I will be participating in an exhibition in Canada.

This will be an opportunity to present the woodcarving techniques and expressions I have developed in Japan
to a completely new audience overseas.
It is both exciting and challenging.

Even across differences in language and culture,
I believe that the warmth of wood,
the marks of handcraft,
and the quiet presence within each piece
can still be felt and understood.

In preparation for this exhibition,
I have revisited the meaning behind every cut,
focusing not only on visual beauty,
but also on how each piece feels in the hand
and how it exists within a space.

Exhibiting abroad is not only a test of where I stand today,
but also an opportunity to encounter new perspectives and values.

 

Through this experience,
I hope to further expand the reach of Japanese woodcarving craftsmanship.

Going forward, I plan to explore more opportunities,
including pop-up events and international exhibitions,
so that more people can experience my work in person.

No matter where I go,
the essence remains the same—
to face the wood and carve, one cut at a time.

With that belief, I move forward.
