岸和田では、だんじり祭まであと少し。

街を歩くと、青年団の皆さんが走り込みをしている姿や、お囃子の練習の音が聞こえ始め、少しずつ祭りの空気が街全体に広がってきています。古くから、祭りの数か月前には青年団が走り込みを始め、祭りに向けた体力づくりやお囃子の稽古を重ねることが、この地域の風物詩となっています。
祭り当日の勇壮な曳行はもちろんですが、その裏側には何か月も前から続く準備があります。

だんじりの点検や修理、彫刻の補修、駒（車輪）の整備、綱や金具の確認など、一台一台が最高の状態で祭礼を迎えられるよう、多くの職人や地域の方々が力を合わせています。
私たち源右衛門も、彫刻の修理や補修を通して、だんじりに携わる機会をいただいております。
長い年月を受け継いできた彫刻には、それぞれの町の歴史や誇り、そして先人たちの想いが刻まれています。だからこそ、修理は単に壊れた部分を直すだけではありません。

これから先も何十年、何百年と受け継がれていく文化を守るための、大切な仕事だと考えています。

岸和田だんじり祭は300年以上の歴史を持ち、多くの人々の手によって受け継がれてきました。
祭りの日に注目が集まりますが、本当の祭りは、その何か月も前から始まっています。

走り込みを続ける青年団。
夜遅くまでお囃子を練習する子どもたち。
だんじりを整備する職人。
町を支える多くの人たち。

その一人ひとりの積み重ねがあるからこそ、祭りは毎年変わらず受け継がれていくのだと思います。
今年も素晴らしい祭礼となることを願いながら、私たちも一刀一刀、心を込めて木と向き合ってまいります。

As the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival draws closer, the atmosphere throughout the town begins to change.

You can see members of each neighborhood running through the streets to build their endurance, while the sounds of traditional festival music fill the evening air. These preparations have long been part of the local tradition, beginning months before the festival itself.

While the powerful danjiri procession captures everyone's attention during the festival, countless hours of preparation take place behind the scenes.

The floats are carefully inspected, repaired, and maintained. Wooden carvings are restored, wheels are serviced, and every detail is checked so that each danjiri is ready for the festival.

At Genyemon, we are honored to contribute through the restoration and repair of traditional wood carvings.

With a history spanning more than 300 years, the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival has been sustained by the dedication of countless people.

The festival does not begin on the day the floats roll through the streets.

It begins months earlier—with runners building their strength, musicians practicing each evening, craftsmen maintaining the floats, and entire communities working together.

It is these unseen efforts that keep the tradition alive.

As this year's festival approaches, we too will continue carving each piece with care, respect, and gratitude for the culture we are privileged to help preserve.
