7月も終わりを迎え、岸和田の街では少しずつ祭りへ向けた空気が色濃くなってきました。

青年団の皆さんは走り込みや体力づくりに励み、お囃子の練習にも熱が入る時期です。

祭り当日の華やかさに目が向きがちですが、その裏側には何か月も前から積み重ねられてきた努力があります。

だんじりの点検や修理、彫刻の補修、各町での準備や打ち合わせなど、多くの人がそれぞれの役割を担いながら、最高の祭礼を迎えるために汗を流しています。

源右衛門でも、彫刻の修理や補修をはじめ、木と向き合う日々が続いています。

長い歴史の中で受け継がれてきた彫刻には、その町の誇りや想いが込められています。

だからこそ、私たちは単に木を彫るのではなく、未来へ文化を受け継ぐという気持ちを大切にしながら、一刀一刀を刻んでいます。

祭りは当日だけで完成するものではありません。

地域の皆さまの努力、職人の技術、そして受け継がれてきた伝統が重なり合ってこそ、あの迫力ある祭礼が生まれます。

今年も素晴らしい祭りとなることを願いながら、源右衛門もものづくりを通して地域に貢献できるよう努めてまいります。

As July comes to a close, the atmosphere in Kishiwada is gradually filling with anticipation for the upcoming Danjiri Festival.

Local youth groups are training hard, building their strength through running, while the sounds of traditional festival music can already be heard throughout the town.

Although the excitement of the festival days often takes center stage, the true spirit of the celebration is built through months of preparation.

The danjiri floats are carefully inspected and repaired, wood carvings are restored, and every neighborhood works together to prepare for the festival with dedication and pride.

At Genyemon, we continue our own work of carving and restoring wood, honoring the traditions that have been passed down through generations.

Every carving carries the history and identity of its community. For us, carving is not simply shaping wood—it is preserving a cultural legacy for future generations.

The festival is not created in a single day.

It is the result of the combined efforts of local communities, skilled craftsmen, and traditions that have been carefully handed down over many years.
