新たな出会いと挑戦の一か月
5月は、源右衛門にとって多くの出会いと学びに恵まれた一か月となりました。
日々の制作に加え、新たなご依頼やご相談をいただきながら、改めて手仕事の価値と向き合う時間を過ごしました。
木は一つとして同じものがなく、木目や表情、硬さや香りもそれぞれ異なります。
だからこそ、その木の個性を見極めながら、一刀一刀丁寧に彫り進めることを大切にしています。
また、5月にはカナダで開催された展示会にも参加する機会をいただきました。海外の方々に作品をご覧いただき、日本の木彫文化や手仕事の魅力をお伝えできたことは、大変貴重な経験となりました。
言葉や文化が異なっていても、木の温もりや職人の手による表現に興味を持ってくださる方が多く、ものづくりの力は国境を越えるのだと改めて感じました。
展示会では多くの出会いがあり、新たな視点や価値観にも触れることができました。
これらの経験を今後の作品づくりにも活かしていきたいと思います。
源右衛門では、伝統技術を大切にしながらも、現代の暮らしに寄り添う作品づくりを続けてまいります。
木彫作品はもちろん、表札や看板、記念品などのオーダーメイド制作にも柔軟に対応しております。
今後はポップアップイベントやワークショップなども積極的に開催し、より多くの方に木彫の魅力を直接感じていただける機会を増やしていきたいと考えています。
これからも、一点一点に想いを込めて。

A Month of New Encounters and Challenges
May was a month filled with valuable encounters, learning experiences, and new opportunities for Genyemon.
Alongside daily carving work, I had the privilege of receiving new commissions and inquiries, which allowed me to further reflect on the value of handcrafted craftsmanship.
No two pieces of wood are ever the same.
Each has its own grain, texture, character, and story.
That is why I believe it is important to understand the nature of each piece before making every cut.
In May, I also had the opportunity to participate in an exhibition in Canada.
Sharing my work with people from different cultures and backgrounds was an unforgettable experience.
It reminded me that the warmth of wood and the spirit of handcrafted work can be appreciated beyond language and borders.
The exhibition brought many meaningful conversations, new perspectives, and inspiration that I hope to carry forward into future creations.
At Genyemon, I will continue creating works that respect traditional craftsmanship while fitting naturally into modern life.
In addition to woodcarving artworks, I also accept custom orders for nameplates, signs, commemorative pieces, and more.
Looking ahead, I plan to expand activities through pop-up events and workshops, creating more opportunities for people to experience the beauty of woodcarving firsthand.
